I would expect it to do that atleast, 14,400 gph or 240 gallons per minute is what a 4 inch pipe is rated at for suction or gravity pressure. depending on the quality of the valve you get it may be alot less or pretty close.

You know a 2" hole flows more water than two 1" holes. You may want to increase the diameter and go with less over all holes. You get the best of both worlds, less holes and more flow.
You should sketch up your overall plan and show us what your thinking about?

Is it an acrylic tank? If you don't have internal overflow boxes, have you considered external overflow boxes?

i just wanted skimming across the back of the tank. if someone knows somthing better please tell me. i want to send my tank in early next week to get drilled.

Look into glass-holes.com overflows. I think they work great. Don't re-invent the wheel, just use what works.

i just dont want anything in my tank whats so ever. and to get 10x rate it would cost 665 dollars.
im doing a closed loop with multiple intakes. i think ill just do one hole on one side of the tank. it seemss like im confusing the people who know more then i do.
