Top Ten Reasons You Cant Trust Vicious Pit Bulls

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have been bit by many dogs at least a dozen or so but never a pit and i have been around alot of a.p.b.t's and they are controlled by proper handling and regular command training. The master makes a dog what it is a killer or a lap dog it is the master's choice a pit just has the ability to do more damage than a lesser breed when trained for aggresive work.I have a rednose pit X bullmastiff and iam happy with her temperment she will be aggresive and chew on the fence when a stranger approaches but when my 4y/o neice comes over the dog is playful and happy to see the kid.I would not leave the 2 unattended tho as a pit is very hyper and will somtimes knock the baby over or scratch her on the face on accident so i recommend that u should not leave small kids with any dogs but easpeically the pit because they play rough and accidents can happen.

I don't know, 95% of all the pits I have dealt with, 8 or so, sucked as guard dogs. Were definately not aggressive towards guests and most were really not to bad with other dogs. Most of these dogs had responsible owners though.

And I don't know about you but I would be far more afraid of 130 pound bullmastiff, GSD or rottie ( that are known to be more human aggressive) than I ever would a 50 or 60 pound pit. But that is me.

The media generally makes any dog attack a pit bull attack though.

Well like I said , I am afraid of any big, mean-looking or aggressive dog I am unfamiliar with( due to many unfortunate experiences). I like PB's and I realize that they are one of the best breeds of any dog for almost any task you could want a dog for, so I just want everyone to know right now that I am not picking on them, from my personal experience with several hundred or so dogs they can be friendlier than most, but this is the breed of dog that has come after me more than any other, I attribute this to irresponsible owners more than anything, but we all know that this is a breed with an unfortunate history to it's bloodline. I really do LOVE PITBULLS but many of the physical traits I like about them are what makes them so potentialy dangerous, but not really more so than any other large or similar size dog. So keep posting pics of them because I am still a dog lover and many of you have some good ones!

I have two pitbulls, my wife also has a westie and a cat. We also have three kids, I have no worries about aggression or attacks. The westie is alot more aggresive than either of the pits. Not all pits can be raised with other animals because of the animal aggresion, but if the pits are raised properly and know that you are in charge they make great family pets. Letting the dog know that you are in charge does not mean abuse, there is never a reason to physically dicipline a pitbull, they are so willing to please that a stern NO is usually enough. My personal experience with pitbulls has been 99% positive. I have seen pitbulls that I would not go near, but these were very abused dogs mentaly and physically. They were chained outside all the time, food was thrown at them and they were never socialized. I don't blame the dogs, any dog in that situation would react the same way. Its easy to blame the dog, but if you look at any dog attack pitbull or not there is always a person at fault.

yea.....most dogs are great w/ kids. dogs that arent raised w/ children wont really like kids if around them. my dogs are great w/ kids, my 1 female,Angel, dosent really like ones that are at her eye level...she wont hurt them but she wont have enything to do w/ them either!! my baby's are hyper and jumpy but other than that, i wouldent wont eny other dogs!! :) i love my animals!! and as u can see in the pic i posted awhile ago, they get along great w/ my cat!! "Its easy to blame the dog, but if you look at any dog attack pitbull or not there is always a person at fault." this is true...its not the dogs fault, it's the dogs owner!! heck! there are pits i wont get near cause of the way the are raised! the stern NO thing works w/ my dogs....if there is eny yelling in the house, even if its not at her, Angel will crawl into a corner and pout!!! she gets this sad look on hert face & you have to tell whome ever is yelling to stop...then you have to go apologize to her for you yelling!! she is the funniest thing ever!! :)
