Pits are the most loving, friendly, loyal pups there are............I used to volunteer at a local SPCA. and you guessed it........tons of neglected pitts..............but onced they warmed up to you they were friends for life...........GREAT dogs!!!!! I just hated when people walked in and say "pitbull are so mean", "he'll just end up attacting somebody"......etc..............Ignorance!!!!!!!

It's the owners NOT the dogs!!!!!!!!!;) :popcorn:

My Sister and Bro in Law have a pit and I was TERRIFIED of that stupid dog for so long until I finally softened up to it and now I love that dog. Its so nice and fun. If they are raised right then they are fantastic pets. The size of its head still freaks me out but its an awesome dog.
 
my brother-in-law has an American pit, Chance, his head is so freackin BIG!!! i mean, its bigger than mine....but he lives w/ a 9 y/o, 6 y/o, & a 5 y/o!! they use him as a pillow when there watchin TV!! :) so horribly vicous huh!!! :)
 
I love the way Pitbulls look, but I have to admit that I am still scared of them, I get nervous around Rotts and other big mean looking dogs, all breeds can be sweet or mean , but what dog is as well equiped for swallowing you whole as a PIT!!! Just for the record I have been "attacked" by many,many, dogs but luckily have never been bitten ( knock on wood) so I am somewhat "traumatized", it's hard for me to trust any big dogs I am unfamiliar with, since pitbulls are built how they are many of them are used as security systems for family homes ect. Just a quick reminder, just because your loving family pet would never hurt you or your family, doesn't mean that it still isnt a danger to other people or animals. They may still attack, many dogs (like pits) need to be taken care of by responsible people. This also goes double for those dogs with Gigantic box heads and trap jaw teeth!
 
yea...i know wht u mean.....yea, my dogs will hurt enyone that tries to hurt me...but other then that they are the sweetest & most friendly dogs!!

I don't know, 95% of all the pits I have dealt with, 8 or so, sucked as guard dogs. Were definately not aggressive towards guests and most were really not to bad with other dogs. Most of these dogs had responsible owners though.

And I don't know about you but I would be far more afraid of 130 pound bullmastiff, GSD or rottie ( that are known to be more human aggressive) than I ever would a 50 or 60 pound pit. But that is me.

The media generally makes any dog attack a pit bull attack though.
