Fish come doa in shipping all the time even sometimes with the best vendors. It happened to me just a few days ago so I know how you feel. But I emailed the vendor with a pic and the dead fish and got them replaced and the vendor also agreed to go half on the shipping just cause of the inconvenience. Next time just choose a different vendor and do a little research before ordering any fish. I hope they atleast replace the fish or give you some type of refund.

Can you post the company's name, I'm looking foward to by some fish and definetly wouldn't want to order from them.

It will be hard pressed to ask for refund for fish losses now. It is best try to save the rest.

I'll ask again, what is your water parameters and are they sick?

What do you have in your tank? For instance fish that you cycle with?

^ ecoli is right. DOA fish are different than live arrivals which decline & die in your tank., unless the fish arrived with visible disease, & that needs to be documented with date/time stamped images.

Yeah i ordered from aquascape twice.
The first time was awful...they sent me a fish that died a week after arrival. Like you said it was packaged nicely, but the fish itself was in terrible shape. Fasted to the extremes (i know fasting is necessary for shipping, but...) it looked like there were traces of fin rot.

I ordered from them again and this time it turned out to be a great purchase. The fish looked great, packaging was great, the fish looked fasted but healthy.

Maybe it was just the luck of the draw with the person that shipped it, you could have caught him on a bad day or something lol.

I must've caught them on a bad year. Just canceled my order with them. Ordered 2 fish that their site said were in stock in February, called in may to check on progress. They said they'd call me in a week when they were suppose to be sending them out. I forgot about it until i saw this thread. Just called, the girl seemed to have an attitude when i asked what was going on with my order. Apparently they still hadn't gotten them. I'm just mad i waited 7 months fort nothing. will NEVER go through them again.

Okay... So here goes.... As I started this thread, I just want to point out a few things

1. The tank is a new 180... Cycled for 4 weeks with some media from a friend's tank. Levels are very good. Got some plants growing even a little green algae.

2. After I placed the order, which was a week delayed, I went out and bought 12 adult tiger barbs... all of which are thriving. One even laid eggs. which they all happily gobbled up..

So... I ordered from AZ Gardens on 8-27 - a Monday, 3 hours before their deadline for same week shipping. I ordered 18 tiger barbs, 12 cory cats and some plants.... The week goes by and they say on their web site, 'if you haven't heard from us with a shipping number - your order will not ship this week. I didn't hear from them that first week. So, I thought okay, but I noticed that they were having a sale on tiger barbs through 9-3. I emailed, as my slip said I was paying the regular price, but they never responded.

So.... I finally get a tracking number for my order on Thursday 9-6 for an overnight shipment due Friday... Friday comes, UPS is at my door at 10 AM with the package.

I unpack it finding 9 corys sent (ordered 12) - 6 are dead, 7th dies by the afternoon, and the last 2 are floating the next morning. The tigers barbs were very small - not even close to what the web site said they would be.... 5 of those are gone and it hasn't even been 5 days.

The plants I ordered were okay... The amazon swords were the best, but the wisteria was weak at best.

So... I email Pete at AZ Gardens to see what they could do about this on Friday 9-7.... Sat.. no response... Sun.. no response. Mon.. - no response..

I will be calling VISA in the morning to dispute the charges. I gave it a fair shot with AZ Gardens... 2 emails and nothing back...

So here it is AZ GARDENS was where I had my first online fish buying experience.... BEWARE

I've never heard of this place - thanks for sharing your experience.
Have you tried calling them, though?

PS - I just looked them up, and tiger barbs are $2.99. Dang. That's why I always shop locally for fish that can be found locally. I sure hope that the process of getting this straightened out goes smoothly for you.
