Looks like a teugelsi. Can’t say if wild or cb. But slim would suggest wild. Either way not too many teugelsi keepers so good score.

This is from Petzone:
"The Teugelsi Bichir is one of the rare Bichirs in the fish keeping hobby as they aren't seen often. They were discovered in more recent times (1988) and weren't introduced to the hobby until 2004.

Known as one of the "prehistoric" fish, this fish has existed for many years and have the ability to adapt and survive out of water for periods of time. They will grow to a max size of about 16"."

Interesting poly.

Interesting poly.
Wild ones will get bigger than 16in easily, about 20-24in. My old cb teugelsi hit 14-15in and slowed down in growth.

Hope u grabbed that Teug. Captive breds easily get to 14-16” and keep growing to 18-19”. Most wilds are acquired at 15” plus. Not sure on their growth speed. As many of the wild caught pieces are on FB.

Can u share more photos or a video of this dime piece?

That was it in my tank

I'll be doing a water change tonight and snap some pictures! My biggest ornatipinnis and endlicheri were perplexed by this skinny new bichir last night, it's interesting seeing all mine group up and avoid the tueg.

Alright, here's the video. Tanks cloudy from feeding, but otherwise good. Unfortunately the tuegs face is a little bloody today, and aside from not eating yet it's settling.

My senegal, delhezi, and koliba didn't decide to come out for the video so you only see my endlicheri, polli (palmas?), and 4 ornatipinnis; and of course my tueg. My lapredai is in my sump as still a bit too small for the main tank.

Interesting mix of aquatic critters in that tank. I like it!

What's that black fish with the red tail?
