I believe according to the recall sheet I got in the mail....ALL Stealth and Stealth PRO Heaters 25Watts or greater are included in the recall.... I have 10 of these things in my tanks now and half of them are all 300W each!!....all pros and one stealth...and I need to figure out what to do.....thats a lot of cash for me to go out and but 10 new heaters to replace them and wait for UPG to send me my refund!! Damn!! but I do know this...I getting all EBO Jagers!!!

I have never had issues with them but after seeing this thread I went and traded all 9 if mine in today for eheim heaters.

The store should give you the cash or credit for them. No need to mail anything in.

Most people don't support glass tanks correctly. Water is lazy, it will tend to settle at the lowest point whenever it can. If you have a glass tank, you can try to run a business card around the perimeter. If at any point the card can slide in under the tank then this can happen to you too. I had a store for 20 years and saw this all the time. Sorry for your loss though.

This is why my husband puts up with me keeping the house at 80.... no heaters. I have some incase I need to utilize them. But they are in storage atm. I also like it nice 'n toasty.

daym sry about that man. i have had problems with stealths exploading in tanks but nothing at all like this. it almost makes me scared to keep fish.(but that sounds crazier) im mailing my exploading heatrs and picks of tank damage to company. u should do the same. hope all the fish r fine

I hope the company reimburses you for all your losses, i mean the tank and every thing is one thing, what about the house? i mean if that happened to my flat, i would be brining hell to the company...

Its one of my most feared thoughts having my 200G break on me with my hardwood floors etc...

Vitaly, you need to make the company pay for everything that was destroyed regardless if you are not setting up an aquarium right now. When you do settle in the Ukraine, you have to pay for everything all over again. Think about how much money you paid for every single fish, light bulb, fixture, sump, pump, stand, aquarium, sand, etc...

I had a Marineland stealth heater and had no problems. However, when I saw pictures of tanks that had exploded, I threw my heater out.

Considering that the 40 gallon tank had a 55 next to it, that has a 55 next to it, a 75 gallon next to it and a 20 gallon next to it. The 125 had another 125 next to it, a 55 gallon enclosure and a 100 stock pond in front of it. One faulty heater could have set off a chain effect of 650 GALLONS OF WATER all over the floor and walls!!

You don't have to have the receipts.

Explain to them it's a national recall on all of these heaters. (they should know this)
