No because i've never had it. All i know is poor filtration and direct sunlight are the main causes of cloudy water.

If you sump is big enough you never need do hardy any substrate cleaning, just change the white filter cotton every few months and that's it!!

Is it possible to still have bad filtration if your water test parameters show that things are normal? and good>?

i really don't know. I would presume if the water quality is good but cloudy then without regular WCs it will soon turn bad.

OH man I've been reading on sumps for the last hour and I still have no idea how to set it up. I know it looks like I'll need some rubbermade bins or a tank underneath my 180g but what kind of pump do i need to buy? and how to set it up? connections from Sumjp to tank etc.. its kinda confusing to me right now.

Lots of reading so I may have missed this. Are you runningany other media in your ACs beside the sponges?

No. All Sponges. Had an issue b4 with carbon so i took it out and added another sponge.

make it simple and buy a canister

Yes that would be easier.... So far I know you need a sump tank, pump, and a skimmer? some hose's for intake and outtake? Sounds expensive... more than 350$ no?

possibly
no skimmer needed
ohhh and u need bio media
thats ur issue

Any way u can break it down for me from begging to end as to how to set up a sump for a 180g? What mats to buy etc? I've seen many dumps before and it looks confusing to me but sumps are all used for big tanks usually I know for sure

Everyone so interested in you getting more filtration:screwy: why not properly set up the filtration you've got? When you are rinsing your sponges your likely damaging your beneficial bio media. You'll need to add some bio media to your AC filters. The bio media you can just give a quick rinse in tank water while the sponges can get a good cleaning.

There is no reason why two AC110s should be able to filter your 75g with your aro. It will also adequately filter the 180g with the aro in it for now. because your aro grows and you add more fish, you should upgrade you filtration within a few months.
