  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i cant be asked reading the whole thread

if you are just keeping 1 RTG dump the sponge filters get a good size canister filter or 2 put a UV on it add some seachem stability job done

you wont even need to clean the canister that much with 1 fish

how much filtration would i need for 2 crown loaches, 1 Flagtail and 1 RTG? cause tahts what i would want in the future in my 180g

OK... So good news. I went to Big Al's today and bought a bottle of bacteria to treat the tank and these were the test results when i got home from work tonight.

PH high 7.8
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0.25
Nitrate 10ppm

ITs good to see some Nitrites I guess that means that the bacteria is going to work cleaning up the tank. I'm gonna do what Bderick suggests and leave the tank for now with no WC's unless ammonia reaches 0.5ppm gonna let nature do its thing.

Thanks for all the help and advice people I appreciate it!

Thank you Bderick.

I worry for your aro. Good luck

This link can help you with your filter capacity. I use it as a general guide. I think the number are to extreme but it's a good for the fish.

Don't rush with the transfer. I know you're anxious to see your RTG in the new tank but take your time and make sure the tank is cycle. I made this mistake and almost kill my RTG.

nice thanks a lot. and yes i'd love to see my RTG in my new tank but i won't jepordize my RTG's life for that. Even though i want to see my RTG in the new tank its gonna have to wait cause something came up on the owners side and we couldn't get together to make get the new tank delivered. So its all gonna have to wait till next week. =(

Thanks bud =) RTG is doing good I just did a water change today cause the nitrites were a little high. I guess its part of the stabilizing process.

I'm watching the tank like a hawk doing tests everyday... so dont worry too much Everything will be Hunky Dorey =D

worst case I'll just Prime the tank.

isnt the plastic bag gonna be super heavy with water when capturing the arowana?

I'm gonna use the thick clear bags from the lfs so their heavy duty and it won't be very heavy at all maybe 10lbs? I'm only carrying it over 2feet to the new tank. And won't be transfering my rtg until the 75 gallon stabilizes

New 180g tank coming over tonight! I can't wait! Asa I finish painting the tank I'll take pics. =)

the 75g is stabilizing now nitrites are high lately and I've been doing tests every day and doing wc when the lvls are too high. How long does it usually take for the bacteria that transfers nitrite to nitrates kick in?
