i know nothing about the type of fish u have and medication. but i used copper sulphate. mardel coppersafe actually. im still treating the tank but my fish was eating again with no signs of velvet in 3 days. salt and temp raise works good on ich but i had absolutely no affect with that treatment on velvet. i tried salt and heat for over a week. the box says can be harmful to some snails and invertebrates but thats it.

I to have had sucsess with my Payara and Mardel Cletted Cooper - it's the only med I'll ever use with them. The results I've had were almost instantanious.
Added quinine and melafix last night. Fins on my falcirostris are looking much better and most of the smaller spots on the tat are gone!
Good to see that it is getting better.
Update: The barracuda died. It's skin was peeling off and it soon after died.
The tat seems to be better. I don't want to treat a sensitive fish for a month after disease is gone in fear it would cause more problems, so I dosed him the day after the last sign of velvet and I am not doing a water change for 7-10 days to keep what's left of the medication in the water. I plan on adding salt the next water change just incase anything is left.

Thats what happens to fish when the medication contains a harmful chemical to the fish, Same thing happened to my RTC when I treated him with some ich medication.

Now that I have treated fish with quinine sulfate, I think that is going to be the new standard treatment. At my job most barracudas get sick shortly after coming in and nearly all are treated with quinine sulfate as well. I believe that it is a very safe yet effective medication.
