BUT you keep saying it is a hybrid , so it does kind of sound like thats what your saying ...

Great looking trimac btw, how old is he now ? These fish are so underated ... one day I will have enough tank space to own a pair of these great fish!

Thanks, He is just over a year old and around 11" tl the pic is from 3 months ago though.

buddha1200 - no need to apologise you didn't start that debate !

I got on the phone to my local store and they are going to try and get me a Trimac in the next few weeks and store it there for me until I can get a decent set up for it. I hope I can get hold of a pure specimen. Cannot wait to get hold of this beast.

well i dont know about anybody eles trimacs but i can tell u this MY wild caught pairs witch i have 4 pairs were collected by don conkel him self !!! in (Rio Naranja Mexico) lol so i saw that guy that has breeding trimacs sense the 90s well DON has been collection sense the 70s !! and has been taken all over the world to talk at seminars to teach people about cichlids ! so ima say DON knows best ! lol

Why are you making that comparison...? Don could be collecting trimacs since the 40's for all I care... I didn't say boo about your fish or Don's fish. I keep a lot Of Conkel fish. Some of my nicest at the moment are from Don. As a matter of fact some of my trimacs are from Don. Why are you even coming at me sideways like that? On another note... I just found a video of my old F1 pair I shot it using a Sony Handycam... I'm going to try to figure out how to upload it. The pair was in a 150 gal and the male was at least 13" at the time. I'd love to share this.

Anymore pics, guys? let the argument go. It's done. I hope some people will just post some new pics. You guys are going to argue the entire thread until the mods lock it down. No one is going to admit to having fake Trimacs. A good idea would be to start another thread with detailed decriptions and pics about Trimacs and lookalikes. that would be a good place to educate people and debate. The OP has asked for everyone to move pass the debate already. I think everybody wants to honor his wishes. Can't we all just get along:).

Here are a few of the one I used to have. I sold it a while ago to another board member (GMFISHNUT):
