Hi guys,

After my quest to locate a true Texas cichlid (Cyano) i believe i have found one. Could anyone tell me if indeed I do have one or not?

Thanks.

I was hoping for a closer look but cant tell from that video. You need a detail shot a the pearls.

Thats wierd, cuz Cyanos are abundant here in California, more than Carpintis.

I hope this helps. He/she is shy when i turn on the lights and I just got this fish about one hour ago.

He/she does have pearls throughout the body and even his anal fins have spots. Let me know if you need other shots.

Thanks

Sorry to give you bad news, but that doesn't look like a texas to me. I'm not quite sure what this is, but I have a cyano and a carpintis that I raised from fry and they didn't look like that. The dark stripes and brownish color are not typical traits of texas cichlids. i wonder what other people think

The bars are stress i believe due to me turning on the light in the tank. You do not see any bars when the lights are off. I would be so pissed if this is not a Texas. I looked at the tank for like 30 mins. The other fish in the tank looked true! they were grayish with the pearls and no bars but who knows.

Damn,

LOL, yeah thats a Cyano for sure, Good Job on acquiring it.

Yeah I know you're in NewYork. Thats why I said, "Here in California", and not "There in California", lol.

I got some Cyanos if you're interested...

Oh gotcha. Is it brown or is it just the light?
