A 135 should be fine for them, at least for a very long time. I have heard 16" max size but mine seemed to be stopped at about 13". I had a pair, wasn't vented so may have been same sex, but I though it was M and F. They were bonded like a true pair, and swam around together most of the time, though the larger one did occasionally bash the smaller one. I would keep an eye on them, maybe they will become friends, though I have also heard of extreme aggression, and this is one of the meanest pike species.

Will definitely keep a close eye on them. As of now they swim together along with the cuda like a truce was signed or something but only time will tell.

Absolutely correct here. Gourami Swami Gourami Swami had a beautiful pair by the way.

I would love to see your pair if you still have them.

I haven't vented them either but I believe their a pair as well I've been doing my research and trying different things to breed them but not luck yet but their just cool to watch and especially feeding them. These guys are like dogs when I come home from work. But they do get in a breeding ritual atleast once a week just nothing have come out I have a slate they are laying on top in the pic if y'all can see that and one in their fox cave

Vennies and Cincta are two of the largest species. A 16” pike will need more than a 125.

I kept my grown pair of Cincta (male was 16” and female was 13-14”) in a 225 with a few tankmates. A pair of grown wild oscars, a pair of adult heros liberifer, and a 12” hoplarchus psittacus. That was max load. In a 125, the width is too shallow for them. Go with 72x24x24 minimum.

Here’s a pic for reference. Vennies get as big as Cincta.

glad to see they are still doing well man. Hope they do breed for you! When I had them they seemed to get into a mood once in a while but nothing came of it
