That is not a good thing to do. Tank will get too warm in the summer. Algae growth will be a constant problem.

Paint the sides of the tank black so the light will not come in.

This is actually a pretty good idea because the black will also absorb the heat better.

Girlfriends r dream killers lol...mine is permenatly on the rag since she saw my 3,000gal in person then i bought a 500gal the same week lol....not to mention the 26 tanks already running. Stay single haha im going to be dodging plates and other objects very soon. Its a good thing most my tanks r acrylic lol
