;) somebodies robbing someone, IMHO

Yes and no. I think Jeff's are overpriced but at the same time there are some fish that the largest majority of people would be much better off with F1 or F100 instead of wild. These fish are one of those cases. There is a reason you do not see many F1's of these on the market. They are extremely sensitive and not easy to keep alive much less breed. I would pay more for an F2 panda Uaru then I would a wild. Problem is there are no F2's on the market. The reason is that these are one tough fish to keep and breed.

I understand but those were the fish rapps imported last time right(the wild ones that died). F1 are cool and more reliable , but that price is Wild:eek:

Don has a large minimum order (like $450), Rapps does not. Don is primarily a wholesaler. If you can afford the minimum to go with Don then it is more affordable but both guys have different stuff. Don says the wilds he has right now are doing great. Maybe because they are smaller? I've heard alot of stories of adults dying in transit, etc.

As far as sensitive goes I agree but 99% of my CA's are super sensitive to water quality, etc. I think I can handle it. We'll see though, still not 100% sure I'm going with them. I could go with a group of Beani still from Rapps.

Was Jeff rapps the only vendor that sold wild Panda UARU's that Died? If not can u tell me of any other vendors whose Panda UARU's Died also

Don, I heard is not doing hobbyist orders and is directing all those sales to Ira now. so you don't have to pay nothing but the fish cost and shipping guys

Please be aware that I got F1 fernandezyepezi from Rapps when he offered them a couple years ago, and despite all the water changes, heavy filtration, varied diet, etc. they still got bad HITH and nothing I did seemed to slow it down. We treated them for hex but it did nothing. The fish grew, were very active, ate well, and were otherwise normal, but the pits on the face continued to grow and spread. The only thing I did not do was soften the water or lower the pH. I kept them in the mid 7's. I don't think I'd try the fish again unless I had soft, low-pH water.

I have no doubt that the F1 stock was healthy, it just didn't appreciate my water.

I wouldn't even touch the wild stock, and almost every fish in my house is wild-caught. I've heard too many horror stories. They are similar to altum angels... the wilds tend to crash and are very sensitive when acclimating.
