You should turn your 150g to a UJ tank;)

That looks like something else. I have some but it's more of a grow on wood plant, not like java moss that grows all over the place. That looks to be some form of carpet plant, they are usually more high tec plants and I can't imagine the waste going under them.

I may be wrong

I'm on my phone so it's hard to tell... Xmas and java moss are pretty easy but I don't typically see it as a ground cover like that. Maybe is but most carpet plants need CO2.

J jaws7777 i use an LED for all of my tanks. On the 65 I use a Finnex Planted Plus. Or maybe it's a Fugeray Planted Plus? I'll have to look later.

I used to use T5HO bulbs but just switched to LED maybe 3 months ago?

Nah its chewys tank lol may keep the del in their if the ornates gives me a problem and add 1or 2 upper jaws. Would like a reto but will have to wait until the smaller hets put on some size

Outside of bichirs and Polleni, my highest "wanted" fish are fire eel and puffer.

Puffers are hard though - teeth maintenance and low tolerance to tankmates makes it challenging. Having a large one as a solo wet pet isn't as appealing - if I get a huge tank I want it to have multiple fish in it. We'll see what happens with that. That would be a ways away, which means I have lots of time to research.
Definitely love the puffers and the fire eels! Woooo! I agree on not wanting a solo wet pet either, especially if I had all the bichirs together and there wasn't anything at the top. However both of these: dentistry and compatibility are great points.

The figure 8 I had for 2 years had an overbite, because he didn't want to eat snails. shrimp did very little. Tried trimming the beak myself, but it didn't work out very well......

For the puffer aggression, I've noticed that the green spotted puffers I kept were really calm with their other non puffer tank mates. Only I kept mine in high end brackish and eventually salt. (That's kind of irrelevant I guess).

Not sure about any of the larger freshwater puffers for a community tank. Fahaka would probably kill everything. I want a mbu, but have read accounts of them being peaceful and others accounts of the opposite. With a $180 price tag, that's too much for me to tank a chance on right now.

Sorry for the rambling. Just wanted to comment on how great puffers are! :) and if you figure out any bichir compatible puffs, please let me know!

There is one smaller species of puffer from the Congo that only reaches like 3.5". Wes had some but the price tag is something ($300 I think)
said to be very peaceful.

There are many barb species from Africa too, may work if you can actually get some. Look for the TFH African tank I think
