So since we're all chugging on the uj train... Best substrate for ujs to bring out the greens?
I messed around with black sand and it made the palmas palmas look great
I actually have a bag of black sand leftover and a 110g acrylic tank sitting around... Just need to figure out the stand and this project might actually get off the ground lol
My 3 seem to be pretty green with the peace river type colored substrate. Don't have any other experience to add to that though.
Ive been pretty happy with my peace river mix with the black African Cichilid Rift Lake
I mixed in one 20lb bag into about 135lbs of Peace river. Just about the right look, may stilll add one more bag. But with just the one bag added I noticed the fish darkened up and did not look as washed out.
Would be cool to see an update on your group too
I had added the black before the Faranah so I cant really say effect of the black but this was the endli before the black sand. It was always faded and pale looking.
Here is what the endli look like now with the addition of just that little bit of black
Yeah i need to get on that, between the stuff with the baby and having a cracked lens on my phone camera I've not been taking much time to document the fishkids
Oh lord brother i can hear that. Even 5 min infornt of the tanks is a stress relief. Just think we'll get a break when they start college
