UGF OR NO UGF

In the professional world, to be crediable, a person remains professonal. If you call someone out, calling them a rager, crazy, moran, you will get the opposite effect on how they see you as crediable. This is in the professional world and it is common knowledge in everyday interactions.

But the thing is, you can call me a moran and I am keeping my UGFs regardless of what you say or others say.
 
i haven't called you a moron and a rager is slang, shouldn't be offensive or any more offensive then you trying to box people into categories of dependent thinkers. i'm done derailing this thread though, you've said your part and others have said their part and the original poster has already stated he's NOT going with an ugf. let's just move on

The surface area of the UGF is the size of your aquarium's floor. That is what makes it superior, the size. Also, make sure the gravel is not too thin or the UGF will clog. Also frequent cleaning with a gravel vac is necessary for a UGF to work properly. Also, using very strong powerheads with a high GPH with a UGF are a lot better than airpumps or weaker powerheads. A person would want a strong flow through the gravel so the water can go through the gravel where the good bacteria lives.

God ignorance is bliss....actually I did have ugfs...25 years ago when I was a kid and that's all there were...then technology that wasn't from the stone ages came out so I guess I sold out lmao

Yea, you can call me names all you want but the bottom line, I do not agree with you. So what are you going to do about it? Call me more names?

And laugh all you want, I remember a medical doctor with their nurses were laughing their heads off when they were doing an important procedure on a patient. I spoke with the patient's family afterwords and the family thought there were not professional. Will that patient and his family members respect and look up to those people in anyway? I think not. If you call that competent and professional on how you do your work, so be it. You are not impressing anyone. But I guess you think you are. Now I guess you will call me ignorant on that view also.

IF YOU CALL THAT IGNORANT SO BE IT. MY FISHES HEALTH IS IN MY MIND AND NOT HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ME. MY WATER PARAMETERS ARE FINE WITH A UGF AND YOU WANT ME TO CHANGE MY FILTERS. I have 75 running a fluval 405 and I have UGF with marineland 1440.

Is it better to just do the 405 and remove the UGF? Probably not. I have mine running and Im not going to mess up my tank now. Another reason is for my powerhead to sit on the tube that go down to the UGF.

look you guys the point of site's like mfk is to spread information, you guys should be able to hold a debate about ugf without it getting out of hand. Is it the best filter, probably not. Is it functional, I think they can be. I don't see why you guys are attacking someone for having their opinion about a filtration method. I don't think it's ignorant to use an ugf for a fish tank, and I don't see why anyone would persecute someone for voicing the benefits of one

You know what, you have superior knowledge. There are 3 LFS in my area who have been in business for over 20 years. They use in all their tanks, UGFs and they use a central filtering system for all their tanks. Maybe you should tell them how superior your knowledge is and call them a moran like you did me and tell them to take out the UGFs. In your opinon and not mine, the LFS owners who are turning a profit and making a living are morans and ignorant because they use UGFs.

Wow, MFK is awesome, this guy is smarter than LFS owners who have been in business for over 20 years. I am impressed.
