ugh... what to put in an odd shape 400g tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Go with altum angels. Make it a basic biotope.
Or altums and discus.

The height would make it a great flooded forest tank with TALL driftwood sticking out the top.

Ive got a plan...P.LEOPOLODI rarest of the Pterophyllum genus, They are the most agressive angels and they are also the smallest. They are also known as 'dwarf angels' and they would be ok for your tank. I would say as these are small (5 cm ) you could get away with 24 of them in your tank along with a school of 200 rummy noses and some nice catfish :D

You guys need to remember how expensive nice lighting is. For a 4 foot deep tank it would need to be ridiculously bright to make it a nice planted tank. Same thing for a reef.

There are a lot of other silly suggestions too. Just because it is 400 gallons doesn't mean monsters can be kept in it...its only 5 feet long.

I have seen flooded rainforest setups using fake plants with great success. The main attraction I had in mind for a tank like that, is not the plants, but the tall driftwood sticking out above the water surface replicating submerged trees.

Yeah, I think the flooded forest tank or a nice african setup with a bunch of rockwork would be cool. Otherwise I'd go with the RBP's.

500 corydoras sterbai :D
