LOL,hope I didn't ruin your, dinner but, yes it is....

Yeah,I think the wound medication got to it and killed it as it was dead when I removed it.

Definitely a nematode (round worm). The whole tank needs to be treated. The medication of choice is Levamisole. These wormscan live in the water column and in the substrate so, complete the full recommended treatment regimen listed on the package. Also must treat any items that entered the tank (nets, scrapers, etc.)

Thanks Oddball now how do you suppose it got into my tank?

There are a couple of common vectors to bring thee parasites into your tank. It could have already had the worm on arrival. These parasites tunnel under the skin and don't become visible, usually, until they're adults. Live feeders could have introduced the parasite (these worms are not just spread by fish but, also by birds). Of course, any new W/C introductions could have brought the parasite in. Especially with Dats. They seem to be at an unusually high risk of becoming hosts to many parasites.

I'm thinking that my thinbar must have already been carrying this thing and had it festering inside it's body.Maybe there is a connection between Nemos and other parasites and the tumors that thinbars are prone to getting and dying from....
