its 100% not intermedia, I've seen small intermedias in the past, and they have the 6-7 verticle bars at 3" already

its not likely a hybrid, as fish that genearally live together do no hybrid unless in a artificial environment

I'm leaning towards C. thyrorus have spots, and the tail spot is oblong shaped, hard to see in the picture, but I see it in person...

I have to agree with Wes on this, it is not a hybrid. People tend to gravitate towards hybrid when they don't recognize a fish immediately but I think this is erroneous. It still remains to be seen but I'll stick with geographical variant of a known specie or a completely new specie... :headbang2

Those look a little different, they dont have the spots with the spangles, and they are darker all around. Right now, I am stuck on hybrid of inter/pinima, or inter/orino.
Don't really know the collection point though. Could be a cichla intermedia "ventuari", But now we are all guessing now.
