I don't know many bands who would dismiss the opportunity to go big (unless they were to be signed to a crappy record company) purely for the sake of "the music", if people said that they would be lying.
I was reading metal hammer and found the band Gojira. I went on youtube and saw people having these fights that Gojira are so underground. wtf? if they were "underground" they wouldn't be on metal hammer
and the kids just gobble this crap up.....Nemesis529;3374661; said:Nowadays that's true, most underground groups/artist would jump at a record label. But back in the early 90's, when they were giving out record label's like convict fry, it was considered "selling out" if you signed to a big label. This was because once on these big labels you could not play the records you wanted, rather the one the label decided on (which were mostly party and club hits). Hence we have the Hip-Hop industry in the state it's in now.
