Update of 150g Polys Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I notice your timer has one of those side plugs, total pain with all the adapters to make it work. I ended up just dedicating one power strip for lighting with all the oversized wall warts, timers. I also use a timer with the plug on the front.

When you set up the 240 take time to make things easier. I also installed lighting inside the stand to help me see when Im under there. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N2M5EDQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i found a bar timer with two outlets from Target. After getting a defective product twice I finally got one that's working.

FishNCash FishNCash : After showing my mom occasional forum pictures, now she is trying to get me to put a piece of tile in my tank just like your tank. lol.

My parents recently redid the floors in their house and have a lot of Italian tile left over. Do you think putting only one piece of tile in the tank would be sufficient? Or does the entire tank have to be covered to prevent sharp edges? Do you have to soak the tile prior to putting it in the tank?

Just imaging bichirs in socks sliding around on tile is hilarious. :D Even though I know that is not real life.

i would recommend u soak in hot water for a few days and change out the dirty water each day. You could even test it in a QT tank with guppies. If it's toxic the guppies won't survive. My are porcelain tile made in Spain. I think your Italian tile should be ok. The one you have to worry about is the China made one. It would look better if you fill the whole tank. If not then at least do half a tank. Have you thought about adding a thin layer of sand? I had to break the tile with a cutter then using high speed dremmel with a diamond cutter to cut into to size and clean off sharp edges. Make sure u wear mask and eye protection. It's dirty and dangerous.

DANG THAT IS A HUGE FISH. Think you might need a bigger net.
that is actually a really big net. Label on the net said monsterfish net lol

What does the timer do?
it automate my tank lights to turn off and on. I just like this one cuz it allows to plugs and less bulky. Most timer allow one plug and bulky as heck.

Damn hella big, how much is that if you sell it, i know they cause alot:)
i got offers for 550 but after carefully considerations I could not do it. This guy has been with me for a long time and been through two house moves with me. For most people I think they would sell just for the money.

What does the timer do?
Just a timer for the lights. A simple item but somtimes hard to find the right orientation of the plugs.

FishNCash FishNCash , As for timers my all time favorite was the Current Usa ramp timer. This is used inline on a 12v led light and gives an awesome dusk and dawn effect. Problem was dependability. First one did work for quite a few months and then died, the new replacement was not working out of the box so I just gave up on them and now just use the regular 110v digital timers
