Great info Neil, thanks and I agree it should be a sticky.
Now that I know that bloat is a flagellate/spiro disorder that is elevated in times of stress, and not do to high protein, Im wondering..

Would feeding garlic (nls) along w/ pristine water and no stressful env. for a beani at a young age, help prevent bloat? Or are the genetics so strong that feeding epsom salt prior to any symptoms is needed?

Endo......... feeding an easily digestible high quality diet, along with pristine water quality, and a low stress environment will always reduce the chances of a fish getting bloat.
 
I hope mine turn out as well as yours. He is fabulous!
