Alright, I gave 2 of my smaller balas (3 inches) to my LFS 'cause I would rather "rescue" some bigger ones than grow 'em out. I also decided to change the substrate in my 100G from gravel to sand. The HOBs are off, and I stole the air pump from my little brother's 55G to power an air curtain thingamajiggy. Here's the pics!

So should I turn on the filters before I go to bed?
I think the water looks clear enough to. did you try any of that water clarifier stuff?

Nah, it just makes the filters all orange and then I have to do another WC... I'll turn 'em on before I go to bed.
huh, never had that problem. guess I'll make sure to never use it again.

I don't know, it turns my water all yellow. I have really hard water at my house. What do you guys think? I thought it was a change for the better. My favorite color was purple, but I notice how much my eel stands out now.

must be why. we have very soft water here.

it looks a ton better. now, get some more natural decor and it'll look that much better :)

nice variety of fish

Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm gonna need a bigger tank in the not-too-far-away future. What type of decor?
