Hi guys so as you guys might have guessed, I am new and this is my second thread :)

The first thread i asked you guys if buying this lap was worth it for 50 and many of you said yes.

So, I bought it and actually was able to get a 9.5 inch (not 13 inch) for 40 bucks...

I will post pictures shortly. However, it is in its own tank with a female 3 inch flowerhon and this ciclid keeps on bugging her and making his fins bleed? what should I do? should I put a divider or add some more rocks? I am using a fairly simple bare bottom setup for the bichir for better cleaning if the helps.

Also, the bichir is a lapreidei but not sure what exact species it is, will post a pic for you guys to identify....

Finally, he is weird, he only eats at some point and will refuse most foods and most of the time won't eat. However, sometimes he will just suddenly feel hungry eat a small chunk and stop.

I feed him frozen tilapia fillets cut into cubic chunks as well as frozen gutted/ cleaned anchovies I get in the seafood section of the supermarket. Any other food suggestions that I should give him cause he seems very picky about what I give him.

thxs so much!!!

Ray :)

It's a lapradei and likely Nigerian.

Keep the water clean and some salt and should be fine.

The lap will have to be separated from the flower horn. As with most tankmates they will be aggressive against.

Would do pellets (massivore) and tilapia. Not too much a fan of the saltwater fish as long as its occasional it'll be fine.

Its poly lap from that area that's all. As opposed to from the tinkisso river. So it would be tinkisso lapradei, an example.

Get a divider or another tank. What's easier for you to do. I had one made from lowes with a piece of cut acrylic and suction cups.
