UPGRADE: 55 Gallon Tanganyika Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So my 3 Brevis have gone down to 1... 1 disappeared... the other one I found shriveled up on my floor... I didn't even know that brevis would jump out of the tank... I'll have to pick up more... Or I might take the one I have now... and then I'll get Multifasciatus/telmatochromis/Ocellatus oh well

oh that sux, I was in the same boat as you the brevis I has was the last fish in my tank I thought would jump out and I lost 2 in the same day also when the did jump out. I realllyyy like my Ocellatus, those guy are really cool. so small but they are tuff. I love there look, but also they just seem to have more personality then my brevis. and they arent scared of anything, when i stick my hand in to clean if I get to close to there shells they start attacking my hand its the funniest thing. they are constantly moving sand around and building there shell castles. id def recommend getting a few , I had to split my shell areas (a good recommendation I got from Mike Dugan) into 3 or 4 different secluded groups of shells and it worked great for them.

I remember from my research the ocellatus seemed the way to go if you didn't want the whole colony type shell dwellers. The lamprologus meleagris were pretty cool looking as well.

Both are very cool... but still harder to find around here than Brevis and Multifasciatus... But I think I'm going to go with Lamprologus Ocellatus 'Gold' or 'Zambian Blue' or Lamprologus Stappersii... They are both cool/colorful shell dwellers

So I take a step forward just to take 2 back... Yesterday I was backin out of a parking space at work... and the parking lot is set up really oddly... and I back into my managers car

So Note to self: Truck Vs Kia....Truck wins... I totalled her car... Truck got a little dent and scratch... but otherwise still looks like a truck... her trunk lid got smashed in

man that sucks. I couldn't tell ya how many cars i backed into when i was your age. hahaha. now i drive a tractor/trailer. watch out!

When I tell people the story of me backing into the car... They always ask "DID YOU TELL THEM?"... and it amazes me how many of my friends and people in general would just leave and not tell anyone... I couldn't live with myself if that happened... but onto bigger things

The tank is coming along quicker than I planned... I hope to find some rocks on Ebay... ones that all kinda match each other and look nice... and then I'm also looking for another rock dweller cichlid... Neolamprologus Leleupi/Altolamprologus... still wanting to get the Platythelphusa Crab... and Would love to have a Mastacembelus from the lake whether it be Plagiostoma/Ellipsifer/Tanganyicae.... and still need more nerite snails and/or BN Pleco... and then the sump idea... So much to do with so little money

As for the car... It's totalled... My insurance will cover all the damages to the car but my insurance cost goes way up... so I have to also pay for some of that

School is going better though... I dropped out of Physics... Way to hard of class and to much homework for how much time I have... But I will take Physics next year when I have more time

Well Off to work

SO I have a Koi Pond... and I cleaned it out today for the winter... Put all the fish in a separate tub because I can't leave them in the pond since it's not 5 feet deep... and I found 7 fry/fingerlings... one of them is starting to color up... the others ones are still brown... They are very very small... Tomorrow I'm hoping to see if there is anymore in the pond itself... hopefully I find more

New fish added to the tank!!! It is a cichlid species... The genus starts with the letter 'L' and the species ends with a 'S'... This big guy (between 4 and 5 inches) is a pitbull like fish but it is beautiful... Any Guesses?
