I am suppose to move my 6 inch GT into it's new tank today! It was planned for the past week, fish has been fine, however from the past 4 days it has stopped eating. But his behavior was perfectly fine !!!it stil is perfectly fine except the fact that it's not eating..i thought it was bored of the same food and i did a 50% water change just yesterday and today morning i get up to see it's fine, moving and playing around like always but refused the food again, then i see white stringy poop coming out, it's like a thread...WHAT IS THIS???? a year back i lost a 2 inch very young oscar to the same thing..stringy poop but that was more liquidy and clogged my whole filter..it was like tooth paste, my oscar was badly sulking, strained breathing, red gills but its not the case this time!but this is like a thread or like a thin silk worm, GT looks very healthy i feel i can save it..please help me! i have had the fish for one year without any issue..i do not want to lose it...i will be devastated :(:(:(:(. I am getting the fish a large tank, a very powerful filter today! will this help?
p.s : does look a little bit bloated..the tummy.. but again no change in behavior same as usual!just not eating
please suggest me any medication if you can and also lemme know if i should use it in the new tank or my old tank!!

also there is a bit of labored breathing...not really predominant but a bit awkward than usual. I think it's due to the filtration in the tank which i am going to change it tonight

it may be a parisite. i really dont know anything about that particular species but that is what i have seen in the past with fish.

I would first like to know what's the difference between having a internal parasite and a worm? and how much the behavior of the fish has anything to do with it? i have read internal parasites make the fish sulk and behave odd. Not the case here.. and can normal fish have white stringy poop? can it be constipation?

both things that are presented are possible causes. i have had several cichlids that have had bloat (constipation). It is treatable but in my experinces so far, i have not been able to do it successfully. feeding the fish a pea, or there are several methods of treating with epsom salts. there are not really any meds to my knowlage anyway that treat this. for the first week they act pretty normal but the main thing to look for is if they stop eating. sometimes they will come up when it is feeding time almost like it is out of habit but wont eat anything or eat very little. eventually, you will see the scales on the sides start to stick out from being so fat. i do not have very much personal experince with parisites other than anchor worms. let me tell you they are a PITA.
