the uv alone wont kill all the ick..

just a few rocks.. a heater a powerhead and a hob filter will be all you need.. and after that just keep it going and use it for a qt.. and then if i was you i would run hyposalinity... it actually doesnt hurt the fish to do that. i just got through running it on my big tank cause i didnt have a qt setup and all my fish got ick.

UV is great I just keep mine on a lower flow to kill off parasites and not the single celled algaes so the zooplankton still gets there food and the parasites die off.

still it will kill any pods that pass through the uv.. especially zooplankton and phytoplankton. low flow has nothing to do with the uv light.

No point in putting rock in a hospital tank, as it will absorb any meds etc you may have to add..which will make the rock, well, useless...to save wasting live rock, just buy some pvc pip work, and cut small lengths and varying sizes and use that...the fish will use it to hide in etc etc and costs next to nothing to buy.

I know that I am saying that with the lack of LFS QT that the slow flow will kill some zooplankton but not enough to affect the tanks population the idea is to kill the ich from lack of QT and proper care from the catcher to wholesaler to the LFS to you the buyer to your tank. I'd rather loose a few pods to the UV then a tank of fish to ICH

mr.reef24
true.. but a uv alone will not kill all the ich.
