ha ha ha ha ha ha thats too funny, jessica please go back and re read, crap this has been an ongoing theme with you hasnt it. I agreed with ophi on many of things, you two like to disect alot of things that people not just me say and turn it around on them. Thats the selective reading bit that I have been talking about this whole time. And your right as a mod I will come out here and defend the general population and lash out at one or two trolls that want to keep everyone down. Malawi disagreed with me and I was all up for that and supported his plummies example, he never lashed out and made particualr disects at my post arguing that I was wrong or right.

I agreed with ophi until he decided to be a smart ass at the begining of the post, and I was ok with you until I misunderstood your different english so sue me for that! I apologized if it wasnt direceted that way, I think thats merit enough to know when youve done something wrong, but here you are running your flap again, so how do you want me to react ?

quite frankly, I'm offended I have worked so hard for my animals to be as healthy as (presumably) they are, and to gain knowledge to get further with animals in the future, to have it all rained on by one person because he's more experienced than me.

Do you like stopping kids in their tracks, from learning, and discouraging them? Cause hey, I'm just saying, thats what your doing. This is the reason kids do get out of reptiles, because they are young and judged on that.

Guess I'm not ready for that chamelian eh :(

At all in fact I love and support the fact that the future of herping lays in the hands of able kids like loco and so fourth, what I dont like is people discrediting or what was thought of as discrediting and getting into games of whos right or wrong. This whole time I have been preaching listen to your animals listen to your animals, but some people dont seem to think thats good enough and feel the need to keep books as the concrete base as to how to keep living things. Not saying you do it speaking in generalities

if you are happy the owning of herps will be left to us, stop discrediting US then, rather than going on about you being so unhappy people discredit YOU.

I've heard a hell of a lot about you this thread.

Ain't gonna argue about the rest of the UV thing. Tbh I cba being discouraged any more than you've done.

A

At all, but if your feelings are hurt thats too bad, I had it way worse when I didnt have caresheets and I really had to figure it out on my own. I had animals die on me for unexplicable reasons (so I thought). And then caresheets starting coming out and applied them to my husbandry and again animals just died on me. So I thought to myself, why dont I just listen to them and let them tell me what I am doing bad. As soon as I did that then I never turned back. Thats what I am hoping you can understand. My husbandry works in s florida, it may not work in Liverpool england and vice versa. But what I do ask of you is to listen to your animals. And if your animals are telling you they need or benefit from UV light then give it to them. Here I dont need it and its been applied to show no contrasting differences.

My animals are happy fulfilling life events and some are even breeding, I couldnt be happier or prouder. Ask some of the people around here who have been around for a while, you guys the younger generation have it so much easier, but you guys just seem to think you have all the answers.

You. Again.

I don't care who has it easier tbh mate, I'm more interested in my animal than which of us has it easy.

We don't neccassarily (sp!) have it easy/ier. We have people like you bringing us down and discouraging us for being inexperienced cause of our age. You can't deny you did that. You did.

Knowing how hard it can be for kids in the hobby, you should again, know better.

Understand about the animals thing, but you can't go with animals 'telling' you alone. You would need to experience them with and without things first to understand what they are telling you.

I, personally, am not confident enough in the hobby yet to care for animals requiring (?) UV without yet. I think thats quite responsible. So I will continue to use it.

I don't want to lose animals because the cost of a bulb. And no, thats not being funny toward you, I just personally don't want to risk it.

Honestly, you should both just agree to disagree. This is going nowhere.

Jessica I think you need to understand that in fact you should be glad things are easier for you. I didnt have someone telling me like it was when I started. I didnt have UV bulbs and I didnt have great DIY examples of enclosures. I winded everything, if it didnt work then the animal died, if it was working ok the animal was unhealthy and if it was good then the animal was fulfilling life events. Again I was lashing out as I thought you lashed at me, you condoned that behavior in another thread so lets not make it seem so surprising as you stated its in our ways. So now that I think that was cleared up that subject should be dropped, unless you wish to further carry it out more so than it already has. If youre not confident enough to keep your animals with or without a certain thing thats great ! And I think its admirable that you keep your animals life in account.

I think the misconception here is that everyone seems to think that I dislike books, but I think they are a great base, but I think our animals have more to offer than what books state just due to the fact we have them in captivity and most if not all books apply their research based on their wild ways.

And about the chameleon go for it. Get a book get the base of it all and then apply what youve learned about the various animals you have kept, because all that experience will help you with more needy species like chams.

At least there is a discussion going on. It will eventually get somewhere, which is what communication is about. Lets save the predicitions for the end of it all.... this has just begun! :)
