Thanks everyone for the responses, I should've checked back earlier.
Thanks J, any suggestions for specific system and their exact set up, I'm a menthol junky. As for the drip versus a tank I'm going to be basically home bound for the next 3 months minimum, having extensive back surgery so a drip may not be so inconvenient. My most important consideration is how close it is to a real cig so I can break myself off of them because smoking will severely hinder my recovery. For a heavy smoker it's not about the big clouds you get from an RDA to replace the smoking for most, not for the purpose of quitting anyway. It is about the mg of nicotine that is in the juice you select. You will want to start off with a high mg of nicotine like 24mg and a simple, less efficient device that has a tank, is convenient and reliable like cigs were.
If you were to drip 24mg juice on an atomizer it would make you sick instantly. I would not suggest you drip anything over 6mg. This is why I suggest a tank so you can just focus on not smoking.
Here is what I did if it helps (pack and a half a day for me as well)
Level 1: Starter kit (ego batteries) and 24mg juice (close to tobacco flavor) and a tank. Put down the cigs.
Level 2: Upgraded to an iTaste MVP device (more efficient, longer battery) and upgraded to new tank. Dropped to 18mg and a sweet flavor since I could taste again.
Level 3: Upgraded to a mechanical mod with a drip atomizer and dropped down to 6mg.
Next step is 0mg nicotine. You don't want to have to have the headache of running around town and topping off a dripper all of the time/batteries dying. You will still use the tanks you have bought for cruizing around town/convenience. I keep my tanks a step up from the nicotine I am at now so if I have a bad want to smoke day I can hit that real quit and not take a step back. The nice setup can be at home waiting for you and something to look forward to. A goal to not smoke if you will.
I'd appreciate the links I'll definitely PM you, thanks.Justin explained it pretty well and I would follow that model. Being that you smoke 1.5 packs per day, like Justin and I both did - I'd recommend an eGo pen style battery with an Aspire ETS Bottom Dual Coil Tank. I'd recommend the eGo to have at least 1100mAh to help replicate the throat hit. Go to a local vape shop (they are popping up everywhere) and tell them your goal. They should be glad to help.
If you don't have a vape shop close to you and relegated to online purchase, PM me and I can send you some links.
Would this be a decent start and would I need anything else and how well would it simulate the cigs? http://www.fluidvapes.com/itaste-mv...currency=USD&gclid=CL299P3I8r4CFaFDMgodJwsADQ+1 i would just start off with the itaste mvp as a beginners kit. beginner pens are no fun imo
I'm worried that the same thing will happen with me. I've tried the e-cigs once or twice(cheap singles) and they did nothing at all for me. So I'm worried about just how good a system I get will work, don't want to wind up throwing away money.I agree, skip the ego. I personally skipped straight to a cheap mech mod and an rda. I tryed a few tanks but they did nothing for me.
