VATF decided today to commit suicide today by slamming into the top of the tank. Immediately rolled to his back still breathing. Couldn't upright himself and had to move him to the sump because the rays kept trying to finish him off. He is still breathing upside down but not looking good.:irked:

Sorry to see that. Hope he pulls through.

That's one of the larger ATF's I've seen in an aquarium. How long have you had him? Really pretty colors

you still have hope. Maybe.... My armatus did the same thing during the summer. Smashed it head hard and started to do the death roll. He was squirming at the bottom of the tank for 10 minutes. I was 99% sure he was a goner. After 15 minutes, he miraculous got back to his senses and lived.... Now he's good and healthy.

I see in your video that your rays are starting to make a meal outta him.....

Well good news is he Was back upright and swimming in place. Bad news is I pulled back the sheet to check on him and it spooked him, he darted across the sump and is now upside down again, worse breathing than before.

Yep three different rays cloaked him before I could get him out. If it had happened when I wasnt home he would have had no head.

Sorry to hear that I know you've had him for quite awhile. Lost my favorite odoe a week or so again in similar fashion. Somehow jumped into the overflow but to do so he had to lift the lid so guessing he smacked his head pretty good. He went belly up and stayed that way for a day and a half until I lost him. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I've had several ATF do that same thing before. Even though they eventually regained their equilibrium, none of them ever really recovered from it. Doesn't look good to me. :(
