Nah, I spooked him when I was trying to fix them darn bubble disc that the rays keep tearing the hosing up off their clips. Ready to remove them and the air before my trio of Armatus are added to replace him if I cant find better. You know of any?
Doubt he makes it till morning, still on back and barely breathing.
I haven't tried it yet, but I was going to take a smaller piece of PVC 1/2" or the little tan colored drinking water line, and drill a hole in the top of the tank so this PVC would fit tight in there. then run that down the back wall. Hoping that between the tight fit through the top and maybe a few suction cups that could anchor it tight enough so the rays can't get it loose. Then just run the airline down through the PVC, hoping to fit 3 lines in a piece. I'm sure if one planned ahead and glued in nub, button, or a piece with a circular cutout onto the bottom of the tank one could get a solid enough line down to the bottom to not need suction cups.
Have you tried using really small zip ties to hold the line onto the discs?
Worse comes to worse suspend bubble "balls" a few inches off the bottom???
IF you could come up with some triangular acrylic, like you would use to brace corners in an acrylic tank, you could trim some off one of the triangles - enough to stuff an airline behind. IF your tank has trim on it a piece exactly the right size should wedge between the trim and bottom of the tank in the corner with the line behind it, would just need a little rounded out crevice in the top and bottom of it to get the line through.
Just a few random thoughts in regards to rays trying to ruin a guys bubbles....... lol
Got these from the LFS for $.99. I use them to hold my pothos in place, but I suppose they'd work just as well for air lines. They're Ocean Nutrition Seaweed Clips.
EDIT- Al's idea would certainly be a much more sturdy course of action.
The cheap airline clips either pull out of the suction cup or the line pulls out of the clip. You would think someone would make a clip with suction cup made as one and a solid loop to feed the line through so the line cant pull out of th clip. I found some that look to be designed better from japan that I am going to order. If they dont work I will have to try one of your ideas Al.
Rob I have a bunch of those that I use to clip romaine for all my SDs. Never even thought of those. May have to try it.
