Still uncertain of what I want to put in my 210 once my current stock outgrows it.....Considered payara or maybe a vatf ..... I would use a 50 gallon for temporary for the 4 inch vatf..... The dimensions are 40 inches long 14 inches wide and 20 inches tall...... How long do u think the vatf would be ok in the custom 50 for before putting him in the 210

I'd say put him straight in the 210, dimensions? You'll need a lot of flow to make up for the lack of space if you have no plan of upgrading

A 4" vatf in that 50 would be good until he's 7-8" if he's the only fish and you have lots of current. I used a standard 55 to grow out my young ATF. The smaller tank will help to prevent him from injuring himself by slamming into the glass at full speed and will make it MUCH easier to find food, helping the process of breaking him off of live. Just make sure that you have it windy in there!

The 210 is 7x2x2 ..... Can't add the vatf in since my silver arow and rtc are around 12 inches ...... The current is no problem I have prob 3-4 extra koralia powerheads laying around each 1400gph

The 4" VATF will never be able to go in the 210. The RTC and silver arowana grow way too fast. And the VATF will never catch up. If I were you I'd get rid of the RTC and silver arowana because they will outgrow you're tank anyways.

I clearly said omce my current stock outgrows it .... obviously the rtc or silver would eat the vatf.... the rtc and silver will be upgraded or rehomed ...... there womt be anything in the 210

I clearly didn't reread your op. I just wanted to make sure, some people would try it despite being told otherwise. And like I said I think an adult vatf would be fine with enough current imo.

I grew my vittatus in my 55 gallon. Got him when he was 2" and now's 6". Like Chicxulub it helps. My guy took pellets after 7 days and I didn't need to buy teacher fish for him. he's not really skittish either.
