vatf

Besides the rays ive narrowed it down to 3 tats with the vatf or just go with an army and stingrays without vatf ..... i know im very undecisive lol

Tats get to about 10-12 inches but would a vatf and tats grow rougly the same?..... i would be afraid the vatf would eat the tats since it gets bigger

Tats can grow larger than that though they are rare and sensitive as well so I haven't read to much of them getting large. I've read 18inches is possible in home aquaria. They'd be fine size wise I think with the vatf, but a vatf would pick on them imo. You'll need dithers. Getting the vatf over a foot will take a while. If you have this large pond why not just put it to use so you can keep these large fish you want accommodated better.. That is if the dimensions are alright. Or the 300g, so you can make the fish happier.

I have a pretty good supplier for tats so that won't be an issue.... I was thinking about dithers..... What would be good options?.... I have some silver dollars around 5-6 inches but thought they would be too skittish for the vatf and tats ..... I don't like using the pond due to only having a top view of the fish and the humidity is a pain in the ass so I prefer not to set it up again but if I ultimately had to or the pool pond I could...... Would like to stick with the 210

I'll chime in on this and say I think 3 tats and a fatf will most likely work, the only stipulation is getting them the proper size. If say the fatf arrived at 4" the tats would need to be smaller say 3" only problem with these sizes is the fatf will most likely kill the tats because it will outgrow them. A better scenario would be a thick 6" fatf and 7" tats at that size the tats are quite robust and could take some abuse and the fatf will be large enough to not get eaten.

I've previously keept tats with a VATF and they took some nasty abuse from the Atf from time to time.
The growth rate of tats seems to be even slower than that of a VATF, even though they eat everything they seem to have gotten stuck at around 25cm.

Tats grow very slow. Mine grew more slowly than any of five atf species and even slower than my scomb.

I agree they do grow slowly. The only way to get it to work would be large tats and grow the tiger to the point where he cannot be eaten. unlikely to be eaten isn't good enough with tats. Also I was talking about a fatf not vatf. Vatfs will outgrow tats easily whereas fafts are less likely because they both max out to similar sizes
