vatf

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I called in the vatf will be around 5 which will be growing out in a 50 with a drip system...... The tats would be between 4.5-5.5 inches

Oh and another $0.02. ATF don't like to be moved. They get stressed very easily and will jump or die from lack of O2. So just be aware to have plenty of air when you're moving them around and in confined areas for a long time.

YES. Gods yes. So much this.

He will only be moved once I'll make sure to keep an air stone in the bucket/tub when I'm aclimating him to the new tank which I already plan on adding extra oxygen due to the temp of the water for these fish

So would mixing a vatf and tats be a bad idea?..... or can be done depending on sizes?
Highly unlikely as they just said. Tats, will be outgrown and beat up. As for dithers silver dollars would be fine I believe. The tats can will probably eat the vatf if they're larger, and will get beat up badly if smaller. So yes bad idea.

It's not the best idea in the world long term. At like sizes when small, most of the fish you've talked about will school with other silvery fish quite readily, but they become increasingly solitary and aggressive towards other silvery fish as they grow larger. This is especially true with ATF.

I've lost thousands of dollars experimenting with different combos of these fish, as have many of the other people here who are trying to steer you in the right direction.

No matter how well it seems to be going, if you mix these fish, when given enough time as they grow, you WILL be left with just one.

If you insist on making the same mistakes as the rest of us all over again, more power to you.

The 50 gallon(40x14x20) is drilled so I thought about adding my drip system to it but didn't know how sensative the vatf would be to it? Any thoughts?...... Would having the drip go through activated carbon work well for him?
