vendor sent wrong fish...

Mine have orangish red on the lower fins as well... They have had that since I got them. Thats about all the red/orange they got, except for a little around the nose.

yeah, need some pics. I bought 10 rotkeil from aquabid a couple months ago, and they are just showing orange/red fins. I dont expect the red to show up on "shoulder" for awhile, so I have no way of confirming if they are rotkeil as well. Good luck to both of us.
 
I don't know, I learn to love my fish, especially one I grew out for 8 months.

I would ask to have some of the "correct" fish sent. Any vendor who cares about their reputation in this fairly small community will make it right.
 
They made a mistake. Its kinda easy to have a mix up if the fish look very similar at a young age. 8 months is a long time to own fish then want a refund or credit. Maybe he thinks you are trying to scam him or something. I dont know, its tough to say what would be right in this situation. I probably would just keep them, or sell them to someone and then find other Rotkeils.
 
just keep them. no point in raising something for so long then giving it to some one else.
 
I don't see what the point of the marketplace feedback is unless people are going to use it. Post the vendor. They could have easily sent the wrong fish, good or bad it should be noted. If the vendor doesn't want to compensate you let him deal with the negative feedback.

While I can understand your concern and the vendor is clearly being ignorant regarding the issue, you can't compare the quality of F1's (provided they actually are to begin with) to Petsmart fish.

Calling out a vendor for mistakes like this is not tolerated. It always ends in flame wars rather than a mature discussion. General rule for B/S is whatever transaction it is, it is best left between the buyer and seller in PMs, not public forums.

The point of marketplace feedback is because vendors and sellers wish to have such feature in place as part of their promotional strategies. Whether the feedback is positive or negative, you learn something in every feedback shelled out. Negative feedbacks, though it may ruin the reputation of another, nevertheless can effectively help the vendor improve his sale activities further. If the vendor receives negative feedback for a bad transaction, then he deserves it and has no right to complain but we should not call him out in public per the B/S rules.
