vendor sent wrong fish...

Hey just looking for some advice. I don't know if anybody has had this happen to them before..
Here's the situation. I bought some "F1 Rotkeil Severums" from a vendor on aquabid. (the vendor is also here on MFK) Now when these fish are small, they all look the same. I don't think there is anybody that could tell a 1 in. turqouise from a 1 in. Rotkeil. I know I can't.. Well I have grown the fish out for about 8 months and it is obvious that these fish are regular severums and look nothing like the supposed parents in the picture. I contacted the vendor, suggesting he might have accidentliy mixed the 2 types of fish up or something and he basically said they are as advertised and that they were F1 fish from the parents, blah blah blah. I'm kinda mad, was looking to grow out some nice fish and don't know what I should do. Anybody have this happen to them?

dont think that is a good comparison at all...

i think i would try and send them back and if they wont let you, since you have had them for so long, then just not give them your business any more.

I don't think it is a good idea to post who it was publicly. That being said, the person seems to do alot of business and seems reputable from the amount of traffic they get. That is why I suggested to him that he may have made a mistake.... He says no mistake. I would not do business with him again in the future unless he was going to credit me somehow. The fish are too big to send back, I've had them for over 6 months and I'm just going to end up taking them to my LFS. I don't want to run someones name through the mud, I just want what I ordered... My battery on my camera is dead, I'll try to post pics of the fish in the morning.
No offense to Severums, they are beautiful fish, but I can get turquoise from Petsmart for less.....

They are in my experience good for their word.. Though like this there are a few times when they seemingly fall short

I think I know who your talking about. I ordered some about 2 months ago. the Rotkeil ones, their not exactly big enough to totally tell but they have that orangish red on their lower fin so I'm certain that their the right ones. Sorry for luck though, that sucks.
