I only have a ipod touch to compare to so i don't know how the iphone 4 stacks up to the droid x,droid 2 global. But my phone is fairly fast especially on wifi for browsing the internet and the gps is pretty nice but it does drain the battery stupid fast imo. I'd think your best bet would be to go to a verizon store and see which one you like better they can both do all about the same thing. The only problem i have with my droid x is that when you install a lot of apps you get a significant amount of lag as with most devices. Maybe do some research and see what the testers say as with anything else there are pos/negatives about each phone.

I love Android, and I still support Android, but I'm giving up on their phones. All the phones are garbage. The hardware is garbage, and every single Android phone that has come out has been buggy. The Droid X has its fair share of bugs. I have the original Droid 1. I've been through all the hacking, rooting, overclocking, ROMing, etc. I'm tired of it. I just want a phone that works, and works when I need it. I don't want to be one of those guys that sit in their room all day hacking and modding their phone just to get it to work. I'm on my 3rd Droid 1, and without a good ROM and overclocking, the phone is essentially useless.
If that's what you like, then go Android. If you want a phone to work when you need it, in real world scenarios, then iPhone is as good as it gets. The problem is all the companies like Motorolla, Samsung, HTC, etc are slapping Android into any phone they make. They use the cheapest parts known to man. The battery life sucks, the cameras are pitiful even though they boast tons of megapixels, and it seems like they do no quality testing whatsoever.
Everybody knows how refined Apple products are, as neutered as they may be. When they put out a product, it works, and it works everyday. Unless somebody figures out how to make a smooth running phone, it's iOS for me.

The good thing is that I have two lines. One has been due since 2009 and one will be due in June 2011. I never owned a Ipone and I heard alot of good and bad things about it.I just want a phone that I wont have to many glitches and prob.
Honestly if you wouldnt have spent so much time trying to "hack" your phone i bet it would have been better and you wouldnt have had any problems. I have had HTC's for a while now and they have never let me down. The iPhone with a 3.2 megapixel camera.. comon were in 2011. I jsut now got windows mobile and im loving it, completely new interface, but its still a work in progress since the apps are nowhere near as good or as many as Droid has.
Go with whatever you like the most. IMO Iphone is a chick phone and youre going to be missing out on things you could have got for the same price in a Droid, and btw who said iphone didnt have bugs? lol

Read what I said. Without modding the Droid 1, it's a useless phone. The phone is beyond underpowered to support Android. Installing a few apps then trying to run more than one thing at once brings the phone to its knees.Gruntking;4939107;4939107 said:

Apple actually put a lot of R&D into the camera and the lens, unlike Motorola which slapped in a basic camera w/o working on it at all.
Actually even though the iphone isn't labeled as a higher mp camera the pictures are actually better quality, I love my Droid X and wouldn't exchange it for a Iphone 4 if i had a chance to, Its just my personal preference as i can root it if i want and have the phone look how i want to and perform how i want to as well. Whatever phone you choose you'll probably be happy either way like i stated before they both have their ups and downs its all about what YOU like best
