Few more shots...better female ones. It does look like her tube might be poking out...I would guess that if I pulled the divider they would spawn...but I want them a little bigger first.

It looks like they are both ready to spawn. Great pictures once again. My choice between a pair of Salvini or a pair of RTM is getting a lot harder because of you. Thanks a lot!
 
Yeah I just noticed the male might have something poking out too. Hope they dont mind a dry run this go around lol.

I am glad I can make you desision difficult lol

Maybe its becasue they are new to me but the RTM would be my pic.
 
Thats the exact same variety of RTM i have.They looked exactly like that when younger amazing color. I think Rio Blanco has the best looking males. These are mine 1 year old. This is what you have to look forward to one of the most gorgeous fish. By far my favorite of all of my pairs. (well until my red terrors pair up)

I cant wait for them to get a little bigger...they look better every day...thats why I am waiting to have them spawn becasue I dont want to slow them down.

See my pic...I already have some festae spawning...I think these rtm are 2nd in line....altho I do like my f1 peru oscars...and my ornatums even tho I haven't spawned them yet :D
 
And sure enough there is a nice batch of eggs. Now they seem to still be opaque...I guess the male could have fertilized through the divider...but I cant believe he would have got them all. Time will tell...but if they did I will just go a head and pull the divider earlier than I wanted.

Congrats, he may have got them all, my dovii spawned thru divider and farthest egg was over 7" away. That batch clutched 1000 fry;) if you would like to grow them out then maybe try dividing each with a different species. That has worked great for me. My largest female is almost 6" now. My male in my pair is only 4.5" and that female is 4".
 
I knew there was a chance but the divider thats in there has tiny holes that are covered in algae...not like egg crate. No big deal...if they stay looking like that I will pull the divider and see what goes down.
 
Eggs are all white today...I didnt think he could fert them through that kind of divider. Thats fine tho...I will keep growing them out but it looks like I should certainly have a pair once I remove the divider.
