Excellent looking argent modest! He's such a stunner and you're pix are great. I had an argentea for about a month but that was about 3-1/2"-4" and just sweet! He got killed.... I got rid of most of my fish the next day and slowly started over..

The eye color changes with mood, not age as far as I can tell. The more pissed off he is the more blue in the eye. It's usually a more purple/grey whe he's just chillin'.

my juvenile argenteas eyes are at the moment a dark brown/black. just those green/jade coloration on yours looks very nice.

Those pics really make me want to buy a vieja argentea too. I was just wondering, do they get along well with your other fish? I might buy a juvie and put him with my severum.

juvenile argenteas are very peaceful and can go with severums. but as they both get larger and reach maturity fights may break out. but, thats always the case with cichlids. i reccommend you get a few argenteas. they are amazing and kind of unique looking and different to other cichlids. . . when was the last time you seen a cichlid that was white? and wearing a face mask?. great hardy, easy to keep fish.
