Vieja Zonatum: SPAWNage ?

BTW... I don't know what size tank you have them in, but get ready. Mine laid eggs in a 125 gallon, then proceeded to evict my oscar and my lyonsi. They didn't want anything else screwing around in the entire 6 ft. tank.

E ~ I'd get that pictus outa there if you plan on raising any of the young. Just a thought. Good luck with them, they should spawn soon fer ya! Looking grrrreat.
They are really beautiful!! Not sure about the spawning as I have never had any zonatums but if they are like the other cichlids of their kind it looks like they are getting ready. Thanks again for the BPs....they are doing great. My kids absolutely adore them.
I was hoping you'd see this thread, I noticed you are selling yours.. .. so I thought you'd know a thing or two..
They are in a 125g... I'm really not prepared to move everyone, because the only tank I have available is a 40b.. and I don't want to cramp them.. but I suppose being cramped is better than being dead!
Yeah there's many more roommates that need to be moved too..

Aww I'm glad your kids enjoy them too... Thank you buddy!! The female liked to eat out of my hand... she'll go directly to your fingers if there's something good to eat.. kids would like to see that, I bet!
btw... I agree. If they are behaving like this without you doing anything, I wouldn't mess with the water, personally.

BTW... I totally ghetto rigged my tank.. I inserted a lid of a storage bin almost down the middle, giving the Z's more space.. seperating them from all the others... I suppose this will work temporarily..
