IMO this vid just points to the pitfalls of prison life for both inmates and COs.
it's a dangerous place, everybody must be constantly vigilant for safety & survival.
People devolve socially to simplifying Life on that level alone.
1 on 1 is way more dangerous and therefore explosive.
I know prisoners get thumped on hard & it's overlooked. If COs had better safety built in for themselves, everybody would be better off.

Interesting response from my da, who was a CO for 15 years at the state penitentiary (and a Marine 27 years prior to that):
He said he wouldn't have thrown the punch first, but given the quick hand movement he doesn't really blame the CO for the reaction. BUT he did say the CO escalated the whole thing by not getting in the guys face right away. The guy was obviously showing off for the other inmates, and should have been put in his place immediately especially in a visitors' room (which happened to be where my da spent most of his time). If the CO had gotten in the guys face right away, he would have either backed down right away or gotten more worked up and thrown the punch, allowing him to be put down quickly.
He also mentioned the prisoner is quite lucky, the second guy in should have been using his baton and not throwing punches.
