Visiting Room Beatdown!

That is what I was wondering about, where the heck was the baton!?
 
ok...heres my thing. I'll just throw out points that have been touched on briefly or not at all.

1. If you are in prison, I don't care what it is for. If you aren't doing time because you stabbed someone, another guy in there is. The CO's can't be made to distinguish the guy who stole his grandma's TV over the guy who walked into a gas station and shot 3 people. The guy got rowdy, and got shut up. Period. You got put in prison, don't act like you want to be an upstanding citizen with rights now.

2. Does it suck that I'll probably be paying for his retirement when he's out? Sure.

3. Instead of standing up for the basic human rights of a guy who got himself locked up because he was to stupid to get away with whatever he did, or to violent to be on the outside, go out and find yourself a homeless vet standing on the corner looking for his next meal or a place to sleep and help him out. You want to be a great white knight defender of the people? Help one of the ones who stood up and made this country what it is, not the degenerate bastards degrading whats left of it.

Honestly, I could care less that the guy got his head beat in, it lies more with the issue is that people in positions of authority are expected to act as such. Being a CO doesn't give you any right to start throwing punches without justifiable cause. In this video, it's evident to me that he didn't have that, he just reacted as he saw fit. Like it or not, the system is built on the indelible right to not be treated poorly without justification. Like I said, he deserved to be reprimanded, but not assaulted. You're making it sounds like we're going to contact our senators about it. Not the case, just discussing my opinion on the topic much like everyone else.

Don't assume that you have the wherewithal to direct where I focus my opinions and donations. Who's to say I don't support homeless veterans, which I do through multiple oprganizations. Besides, what does that have to do with this discussion anyway?

I'm just saying...a lot of people are jumping to the prisoner's side as being assaulted. I think there MAY have been a slight excessiveness (is that a word? it is now) to the guard's initial reaction but again in that environment I would have to imagine that those guards take NO chances. That guy had a loud mouth and a whole lot of erratic movement...he deserved to be put in his place. I guess if people want to argue methods thats another story...personally I say a beating is far more effective that tangling up with someone.

As for the vets thing...my point was if people are going to pull for some waste of space getting punched in the mouth...they better be going out and helping others too. I never said you weren't helping homeless vets, nor did I target you specifically. People get far to hostile on this site far to quickly...oh and also I NEVER told you were to direct your opinions or who to help.
 
Well I'm done Arm chair QBing this one. I trust Krich's experience on how the situation was handled as he lives it every day. Keep up the good work keeping them off the street for us

I think the altercation could have been averted by the 2nd CO continuing alongside the 1st CO until inmate had gone through the doorway. preventing escalation is easier than handling it.
The article at end of vid is interesting, claiming to quote statements made by both sides. kind of funny to me :-I

PARTIAL QUOTES: " (CO) Glover, according to one witness, explained his actions by saying that (inmate) Temple had refused to leave the room when ordered to do so.

"Twice I asked him to leave the room and he didn't want to, so I beat the mother****er down," Glover allegedly said.....
........

(I had to edit out my original copy/paste bcuz the article ran off into describing 2 different prisoner incidents.)
