"in prison black cops are beating down white inmates,....... truth" - eddie

I don't feel sorry for the inmate what so ever and i'm not saying this inmate had not been asking for it. but I gotta call it like I see it. the fight didn't have to happen. your coworker threw a punch that wasn't called for.
I guess it's easy for an outsider to call it that way but the moment the inmate's hand moved he took the situation to another level. There is no time to try and figure out what intentions are behind the gesture.

Screw all that! When time is up, TIME IS UP. No hupla needed, just shut up and get up. All that arm wavin and yellin, is uncalled for.

Sent the link to my da, a former CO ... curious to get his take.

I don't disagree with you that he needed to do something, but isn't he trained to control the inmates, not street fight them? Should be the same as police officers. They shouldn't be boxing with someone, they should be restraining and detaining.

I wasn't there, so my opinion is only that, but looked to me like the attack was uncalled for. Cuffing him and escorting him out, yes. Not getting into a fist fight with the guy.

exactly!

So you guys would rather split hairs as to when a strike can be used to control someone? For a convict? This guy can't be civil, that's why he's where he's at.

well, we're not some third world country where even pos criminals don't get treated like humans.

I get that the guy was asking to get hands put on him. I don't even disagree that punches need to be thrown when the situation calls for it. and I have no other way of judging the situation except by what the video showed.

but from what I saw it wasn't necessary. he could've just as easily wrestled him to the ground and restrained him.

but I do understand that the officer has to be on their toes and have to make split second decisions. like I said, I don't feel sorry for the guy. the beating wasn't that bad. I just fear that if something bad had happened to the inmate, like if he got knocked out from that first punch and as he fell he hit his head and got paralyzed from the neck down, I would not want to be that CO

Or why the other CO started throwing punches as soon as he came through the door instead of restraining the prisoner.
