waht exotics have you caught/found/seen?

Wow common carp are 'exotic' catches were you are?
My brothers big on fishing and common carps are native here..I will try get a pic of him with a HUGE mofo of a carp. When I say huge I mean huge.
 
there was (winter time) an oscar in my local pond i couldnt catch it :(

carp are not natives to the us, they were brought over from europe and spread like crazy, dumb things. they are fun to snag tho :D
 
Well theres to much dam exotic invasive species in Hawaii
like Tilapia,Oscars,Firemouths,Midas/RD,Nicarugan cichlid, Johanni cichlid,convicts,Green terrors, Pacus,Plecos,Dojos,jaguar cichlid,goldfish,carp,snakeheads,bronze corys,silver needle fish, and a lot more......
But I got Pics of 5 Star Generals that I had before...

I never heard of those cichlids till you posted pics while back. How big do they get ,have you bred them?

Great links this link backs up what I suspect . Which is Oscars as time goes by and breed become more and more drab looking . Nothing at all like the pet store Oscars or Oscars folks here own.

While the other cichlids and tropicals develop stunning colors even as old adults but the Oscars continue to lose red and just look drab.
At least all the ones I have seen in canals fairly close though never caught one .

Well not sure how big they get but the biggest one I've seen was about 10" and no i dont breed them cause we have dam to much of these fish lol and i only collect thye males for there nice coloration:D
