wallmart rant

I had one of their people tell me that African Dwarf Frogs eat Algae and I do not need to feed them. Never heard of a frog that is omnivorous
That's true... But only when tey're tadpoles. Doesn't apply to adults, but I think they don't mind, as long as you buy them. :grinno:

Best regards.

Daniel.

I guess I am lucky, the wal-mart I go to has a good fish department, I actually got some guppies from there and they are still alive. I know they do have alot of wrong info on there signs that is why I research before I get my fish. I also used to work at wal-mart and the one I worked at worked hard in all departments but then again it is arkansas where wal-mart started. Maybe they think that we have to work harder and it is hard to get jobs there also. I guess all chain stores will have good stores and bad stores.

I also dislike the WalMart fish dept, but I did buy a fish there. I was walking through and saw the coolest Red Tiger Oscar and just had to have him. I waited around for 5-10 minutes for some to help me. No luck. I went out to find some to help me. Bad Luck. They paiged someone to help me. This lady informed me she had no idea what she was doing, she was just a shelf stocker. She stuck the net in the tank and netted like 4 oscars (mine plus three others) and pulled them outta the tank. I asked what the hell she was doin. She said "can't you just grab the one you want outta the net?" I took the net from her, placed the fish back into the tank, and easily removed the one I wanted. Never again will I buy a fish there.

And while I'm on this complainging kick, how about Petsmart labling Senegal Bichirs as Dinosaur Eels? I've seen this at four different Petsmarts in San Diego.

:screwy: I've seen the first intelligent thing that a walmart aquatic engineer said to an idiot... I mean customer, was "I don't really know" That's it, Give him props for acknowledging that fact at least.. :woot:

Ya the senegals are labeled dinosaur eels here too, not much better than wal-mart huh?

they change the names to make the fish sound more appealing to noob buyers, the same thing was done with the violet goby they changed the name to DRAGON GOBY to make it sound more like WOAH THIS IS A DRAGON goby!!!! or DINOSAUR EEL!!! it actually seems to entice poorly educated customers

Wow, it's already time for another "WAL-MART SUX!!!!!!111" thread? Yeah, they have a ton of misinformation. Yeah, their fish don't look healthy. But it's America, home of free enterprise. Complaining on a messageboard isn't going to change the fact that they don't give a damn about the fish they sell. Complaining to Wal-Mart itself won't change anything either. This is one of those battles that the little guy won't win. Let it go.

your a storee walmart manager, huh
