Voted for cruiser....

I've become a truck guy. I love having the truckbed, great for moving tanks and anything else. Obviously they do just fine off road, did you see the Top Gear where they drive a Toyota to the north pole? I had a Toyota Tundra and liked it... Also had a '78 Chevy Blazer for a few months and that thing was a beast.

So that would be my recommendation... A nice used truck with 4 wheel drive. Most of the major pickup brands are a good product these days, from ford to toyota.

I sure did! I loved that truck. I already have a truck for daily use, but it's 2WD. I'll keep that as my daily driver. And I'm the same way. I need to have a truck in my household. Can't live without one!

Heh, speaking of which, I found a 2004 Tacoma for a good price. I think I'll add it to my household in a few months.

the fj62 land cruisers have 5 foot 11 inchs of room with back seat folded. With tailgate down u can haul anything. I no u had said a 80. But the 62s are monster off road

based on your preference on the toy you wanted i would go for the toyota cruiser, i know i would if im into off roading with light rock crawling :)

If you like the Landcruiser maybe a jeep cheeroke would do the trick. I used to own one and loved it and very reliable with the 4.0L

When the jeep and hummer guys get stuck...the LR's pull them out. I also have seen old LR's run forever and be easily fixed using standard parts if you get an old enough toyota. My brother has done that twice with early 80's toyotas that would still be running if he hadnt sold them.
