Are you aware you committed a crime? You're lucky DNR did not find out.

This is why me and all my hunting buddies hate cats. Feral and stray cats cause sooooo much damage to ecosystems. Fair game when they're in the woods.

They call them house cats for a reason.
No I was not aware of that. :( I will put a bell on him ASAP.

I read the entire thing... what makes you think that I didn't? I merely commented on the original post, which in my opinion is a very juvenile question. I also stated just a few of the reasons why this wouldn't work. Its also just my opinion that if you are as versed in piranha keeping as you portray yourself to be, you would have known you couldn't keep your pygos in this setup from the get go, thus there is no reason for this thread.. I don't claim to know more then the next somewhat intelligent guy but I also learn the ins and outs of the specie I am currently keeping and if you are infatuated with piranhas as you say in you signature I believe you should also know how you should and should not keep them...

Please refrain from the name calling as well because I could have just congradulated you on digging a hole in your trailor park and filling it with "flesh eating monster fish" and standing next to it drinking forties with all your somewhat retarded , insane clown posse wanna be friends, but I didn't.
It was simply a question on how to do something to learn what I would need to keep them in that set up out of curiosity. Like what kind of set up that would be needed for filtration and if there was a possible way to keep the set up heated during the winter. I don't really have much knowledge in ponds so I was wondering if i could of made it possible based on what I knew the fish needed. I love how you would assume I live in a trailor park just because of my preference in music, i live in a subdivision. On a last note my "insane clown posse wanna be friends" prefer to be called Juggalos.

My point exactley.. there was no reason for me to jump to conclusions and comment on a personal preference, but there was also no reason that I should be called a douche bag..

On a lighter note, I love piranhas.. if you search for serrasalmus brandtii I'm sure my name and pics of my show fish (before I lost him to old age) will show up.. if that's something that would interest you..

But just because you can't put that pond outside doesn't meen you couldn't put it inside, space permitting, and in a controlled environment your heating should cost a fraction of the price.. but I also think with small numbers pygos will lose their impressiveness when not viewed from the side.. from above they look like plain silver fish but from the side you see the intense red in natts, yellow with terns, and orange with piraya... but say 20 would look cool either way IMO..

I'm sorry for calling you a douche bag it was very immature of me. :( There really isn't anywhere that I could put an indoor pond with my parent's permitting it (they have a thorn in their side about the current tank in my room) :/

Lol.. I just sneak things into my house when nobody else is home.. once its all set up my parents aren't really going to be able to do much.. I just tell them if they want it out to move it themselves lmao..

.. like stated the bill of runnning a system of such specifications would be tremendous, not only with heating but with filtration aswell

Not really, a DIY solar water heater is all she needs (and of course some emergency backup wouldn't hurt.)
Free tropical temps, all year round.
I would love to help on this project! -Assuming you still decide to dig.
A large enough pond/moat should have enough thermal mass to keep temps tolerable at night if you kept it circulated and on the high end of their preferred temps during the day.
Although, and very important realization i'm having as i type this, i don't know the cloud cover in Michigan in the winter, and that may make my suggestion pointless, i assume it is drastically different than here.
I can give you some good links for info on something like that, that also wont be an eyesore if you are interested.
A 20'-30' island with a campfire sized fire pit would be amazing.

And - Jesus H. Christ! - about the cat killing, i don't much care for them, but damn!
