so it seems that the general consensus is 'NO we do not want to see a monster fish tank on Mythbusters.' Way to take a fun thing and ruin it everyone.

Very well put....I agree 100% I saw an MFK sticker on that "fishzilla" show....

Yes i know its a downer. I know it would be cool and ide like to see it too. Im just trying to get across its not a myth. Which is exactly what is being said on the mythbusters site. A myth is according to the dictionary is - a popular belief or unfounded notion. That a hugely heavy tank will drop through a floor is a fact so doesnt really fit into the show.

The rest IS a myth bud. Would the tank make it through all four floors? If so then great, if not... how far? Seriously you have said what you think and helped to ruin the mood so be happy with the damage you have done and just move on.

The thing that you STILL FOR THE THIRD TIME dont understand is that...any building constructor could tell you what type of floor used for these type of buildings is the weakest...that would be the model to use...then test to see how much water (I think you will be surprised) it takes to go through...so that means only one large scale test! Why would you ever test anything but the weakest when all your trying to do is prove if it is possible??? There is NO logic to doing that. :screwy:

Ill illustrate it for you with a simple example.

Lets say that you and I are having an argument and I wanted to prove to you that I could break a board with nothing more than my hand...and the size of the board was never specified...IMO the thinest board that fits along with the description would be the ONLY one to use to definitively prove that its possible. Maybe in your mind you would start with a nice thick chunk of oak and work your way down...but believe me ill be laughing all the way to the hospital

what you say sounds like you have a point but when broken down your logic is nonexistent.

Not to mention that even if this part of the myth took no test to figure out...then the rest of the myth is still entirely testable.

now please stop trying to just ruin this for the rest of us that want to see it.

Thank You

By the way...on this very site there is a tank of almost 800 gallons with a 200 gallon sump on I believe the 16th floor. Unless you have tested this its very ignorant to claim you know 100% of what the outcome will be.

Ok so ya wanna play it like this do you. Ok well what is NORMAL circumstances? Is there a NORMAL floor in all parts of the world or even the US, nope all different? Is there a NORMAL sized or weight tank, no there all different. Im not disputing they will have fun recreating the "myth" im arguing its not a myth in the first place and is impossible to test NORMALLY because what is NORMAL in these circumstances? What you said made no sense BUSTED.
Um wouldn't a normal floor just be your average up to code apartment floor i can't imagine that there are millions of different designs. not to mention this is all in good fun so y not pull the stick out a little friend....:grinno: just a thought

Umm yes ofcourse the tank would make it through if it was heavy and strong enough. Again thats not a myth just more BS. And i wont be moving anywhere.

Again for the 3rd time that is not a myth. That same builder could also tell you how much weight it would take to fall through in a certain footprint. So since your checking with him anyway why not just skip the whole test and he can give you the answer.

Again more BS. That test only tests your hand and the board. Not many variables there. So what are the dimensions of the tank in this myth you made up? Will make a huuuuge difference. Glass thickness? Big difference when it hits the floors below. Or is in Acrylic thickness? More stuff you dont know.
Im only still disputing it because your being a smart ass and because as i have said 10 times but you keep choosing to ignore even the mods on the mythbusters site think its stupid. That has to tell you something.

Ignorant. I believe that is you after that comment. Again like ive said 10 times the myth doesnt specify a tank size. Im sure a 1000g made of 6" bullet proof glass on a tiny footprint with a heavy metal stand will fall through whatever you want it to. Since your "myth" doesnt specify anything there is nothing to say he didnt take home a tank exactly like that.

Dude like fish eat fish said if this is pissing u off sooooooo much and u think we are all ignorant dumbasses then um...i dunno...leave the thread we are all just trying to have a little fun and your not doing anyone any good

all I can say is Chrisdef you are giving all Chris's a bad name so all I can say is I agree with Baker and that you should end your participation in this thread.

everyone is trying to come up with plausible situations that they can submit to the Mythbusters...

I wouldnt say it is everyone, I would say it is mostly Chrisdef. Instead of saying once that it isnt a myth or what ever he has to argue with every little thing, so I would say that Chrisdef has to be single...
