all I can say is Chrisdef you are giving all Chris's a bad name so all I can say is I agree with Baker and that you should end your participation in this thread.

everyone is trying to come up with plausible situations that they can submit to the Mythbusters...

I wouldnt say it is everyone, I would say it is mostly Chrisdef. Instead of saying once that it isnt a myth or what ever he has to argue with every little thing, so I would say that Chrisdef has to be single...
Haha....rosey palms lack of satisfaction?

In the end no matter what anyone says...You cannot deny that MythBusters is a TV show and that MythBusters are only interested in drawing viewers...And a giant fish tank falling through 4 floors and exploding at the bottom (or where ever it does) would draw viewers. We are not submitting this test to the department of public saftey so some of you need to stop getting your panties in a bunch.

It would be a very cool episode and I would not only love to see the destruction but the construction of the monster tank itself!

I think that a tank like this would make it through the floor but at many more gallons than most would think. Im not sure if it could make it too the basement but that water would have ALOT of inertia! I would love to find out how it goes down. Pun intended

I would also like to point out something else.

Im watching mythbusters as im typing this and they just tested stopping a car by putting it in reverse... According to chrisdef this myth would NEVER get tested and would get laughed at by the myth busters. I mean it got busted because the cars have safety systems that dont alow the gears to engage when moving forward. THIS INFORMATION COULD BE FOUND IN THE OWNERS MANUAL!

But they still tested it!...golly how did that happen?...maybe its because people wanted to see it...the words "I told ya so" come to mind but ill let it go.

But what about all the variables?!?!?! Theres thousands of different cars that have been made and what about broken saftey devices?!?! Maybe its because...ITS A TV SHOW!

This myth wasnt even interesting to watch...if they will tests this why not an exciting myth like the one we have here?

If we discuss enough and get some hype going they easily could.

Back to the myth...

I would say that it would have to be a house or atleast a wooden structure, as I am in a apartment building my self and coming from the building industry. I can say all cement floors are reinforced with rebar and can hold the weight of a small tank per apartment on a single floor...

As for weather this is worthy or not, they did a myth on a water heat blasting off like a rocket from the basement right through the house (all the floors and roof) and flying 500ft in the air. I never even heard of that, but apparently it actually happened similar to this myth.

I have heard of a 200gal and up, falling through the 2nd floor and landing in the basement but I have never actually seen any pictures, just the scary stories of "big tanks". I havent heard of it failing in a concrete apartment building, so maybe we could go that way with the myth. seems a little more plausible IMO. As stated the Mythbusters do test the obvious as they do run out of material, I am not even sure how much longer the show can go to be honest.

I agree to a point. we should not change the myth as mythbusters is looking for an actual myth. I dont think they will test something if we just make it up on the thread ha ha but it is possible that some of the details have been lost so hypothesizing that it may have happened a different way may be helpful!

I would think that even if it was a concrete building the tank would fall through eventually especially if placed in a way were its the least supported.

that is the myth there!!! :ROFL:I dont see that happening so we will have to see.... If someone wants to give me a 1000gal aquarium with filter(s) (which would be bigger then my apartment lol) I will fill it up and video tape it and if it doesnt fall throught the floor I can keep it if it does then you have to clean up the mess :D

Ok ille give up after this lot of replies. Im arguing every point because the morons keep giving me points to argue. Stop making smart ass personal comments and i wouldnt bother. And no not single im engaged. I dont need to argue with her because she is smart and doesnt make stupid childish comments and need things explained to her.

As i said i think it would be very cool to see too. I just think its getting silly when the mods at mythbusters say its stupid yet we have 3 threads on it all talking about the same thing. Obviously ppl that arent fish nuts arent really interested.
